
Dr Niccole Ranaei-Zamani

Dr Ranaei is a Clinical Research Fellow at University College London and a specialty trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London. She is undertaking a PhD investigating placental oxygenation and haemodynamics, with a focus on advanced imaging and computational techniques to better understand placental function in complicated pregnancies. She leads the clinical aspect of the PROSPEKT and MERIT studies at UCLH, developing a near-infrared spectroscopy, machine-learning–driven fetal monitoring tool for use in both antenatal and intrapartum care, and played a key role in establishing this work at AIIMS New Delhi.
She completed her Medical degree and BSc in Pharmacology at Cardiff University before embarking on specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology. Her wider academic interests include the development of wearable technologies for pregnant patients, with the goal of improving maternal and perinatal outcomes through innovation in monitoring and personalised care.
