Dr. St Lawrence is a Professor in Medical Biophysics at Western University and a Scientist at the Lawson Research Institute (London, ON, Canada). His research focuses on developing quantitative imaging methods for studying brain function and spans multiple modalities including optics, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography. His team has built multiple optical devices for clinical applications including neuromonitoring in the intensive care unit. They are also investigating how hybrid PET/MRI can be harnessed for neuroimaging applications. This work has led to the development of truly hybrid methods for imaging brain perfusion and oxygen consumption that overcome the complexities of traditional PET methods.
