His work involves hardware development and on-field exploitation of compact, Time-Domain Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (TD-NIRS) platforms for cerebral and muscle oximetry monitoring in clinical and sport science applications. Michele has served as, reviewer, director, chair\/organizer of international scientific events, participated in several high-impact international research projects contributing to unique advancements in neurophotonics, authoring more than thirty international peer-reviewed scientific publications.
