His research focuses on developing quantitative imaging methods for studying brain function and spans multiple modalities including optics, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography. His team has built multiple optical devices for clinical applications including neuromonitoring in the intensive care unit. They are also investigating how hybrid PET\/MRI can be harnessed for neuroimaging applications.
